Night Catches Us

In 1976, former Black Panther Marcus (Anthony Mackie) returns to his Philadelphia neighborhood to attend his father's funeral. He reconnects with Pat, the widow of a Panther leader, Kerry Washington, and attempts to conquer his demons. Meanwhile, Patricia faces racial and social conflicts in her neighborhood, as well as old enemies and friends, including DoRight Miller (Jamie Hector), who interferes with Marcus's good intentions. The film explores themes of racial tension, personal struggle, and redemption set against the backdrop of 1970s Philadelphia.
