In 1962, cult filmmaker Jesús Franco directed his first horror film, The Awful Dr. Orlof, a Spanish-French co-production that would become the earliest international success for a Spanish horror film. Based on a real-life British film, The Awful Dr. Orloff tells the twisted tale of Dr. Orlof, a former prison doctor who kidnaps beautiful women from nightclubs to repair his disfigured daughter's face with skin grafts. Assisted by his slavish and blind henchman Morpho, Dr. Orlof will stop at nothing to achieve his sinister goal, but Inspector Tanner is hot on his trail, determined to put an end to the doctor's horrific practices.
