5 Card Stud

In 1880, a mysterious drifter and gambler is caught cheating at a five-card stud poker game in the small town of Rincon, Colorado. The players, led by volatile Nick Evers, take the cheating gambler to lynch him, but one player, Van Morgan (Dean Martin), tries to prevent the hanging. After Morgan leaves town, he returns when several of the other players from the poker game start becoming murder victims, all killed by hanging. As more members of the lynch mob are targeted for revenge, Morgan teams up with Lily Langford (Inger Stevens) and figures out that a stern Baptist preacher, Reverend Jonathan Rudd (Robert Mitchum), is behind the killings, eventually leading to a showdown between Morgan and Rudd.
