Black Mountain Side

In the remote Arctic North, a team of archaeologists uncovers an enormous stone structure buried beneath ice and sediment, dating back approximately 14,000 years to the closing of the last ice age. As they examine and evaluate this discovery, things start to go awry: the site's native workers leave, communications fail, supplies stop coming, and the men begin to feel odd physical and psychological effects, all compounded by the solitude thrust upon them. The isolation leads to subtle behavioral changes, paranoia, hallucinations, and eventually, violence erupts within the station as the team descends into chaos. In the end, most of the expedition is dead, and the remaining survivors are left to grapple with the mystery beneath the ice, which may hold secrets that humanity was never meant to find.
