The Taste of Things

"The Taste of Things" is a romantic drama that's also a historically accurate period film about food, set in 1889 France, depicting a romance between a cook and the gourmet she works for, Dodin Bouffant (Benoît Magimel). The film follows Dodin as he tries to win over his long-term partner Eugénie (Juliette Binoche), who has refused to marry him, through cooking. With the help of French chef Pierre Gagnaire and his personal cook Eugénie, Dodin creates intricate dishes to tempt her heart.
