In a desperate bid for survival, Mata Nui, the Great Spirit of the Matoran universe, finds himself exiled from his home and trapped inside the Mask of Life, hurtling through space until it crash lands on the barren planet of Bara Magna. With a new body created by the mask, Mata Nui embarks on a perilous journey to unite the warring villages against the ruthless Skrall-Bone Hunter alliance, forming unlikely alliances and friendships along the way. As he confronts his arch-nemesis Makuta Teridax, Mata Nui must harness the power of his mask to defeat the enemy and reclaim his rightful place as ruler of the Matoran universe.
