Real estate journalist Julia Talben (Jessica Lowndes) feels unsatisfied with her current writing assignments and finds comfort in her relationship with her sister Amanda and nephew Charlie. Tragedy strikes when Richard Renshaw breaks into Amanda's house and kills her family, leading Julia to investigate the sale of her home, which has already been sold not long after the murders occurred. As she delves deeper, Julia discovers that several other properties have had similar tragedies, all connected to a shell company named Revelation Holdings and its founder, Jebediah Crone. Julia's search for answers takes her to the town of New English, where she uncovers dark secrets about her birth mother and the sinister plans of the town's residents, led by the enigmatic and terrifying Jebediah Crone.
