Two young, beautiful, and fed-up girls, Lia and Tina, embark on a hitchhiking adventure to Rome in search of freedom and a life of free love, only to find themselves entangled in prostitution, violence, and gang exploitation. As they become embroiled in the dark underbelly of Italian society, their lives are brutally cut short in a shocking and violent climax. Based on the struggles of women's liberation in 1970s Italy, "To Be Twenty" is a gritty and unflinching drama that explores themes of exploitation, sexual violence, and the loss of innocence.
