Lust for Freedom

The film follows Gillian Kaites (Melanie Coll), a former female cop who is framed by corrupt police and must fight her way out of prison alone against tough inmates and those in charge. With help from other women, Gillian plots to escape the prison where she was kidnapped and subjected to abuse along the California-Mexico border. The film, directed and produced by Eric Louzil, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 1987 before a theatrical release later that year.
