Brides of Blood

Three Americans arrive on a tropical island: Dr. Paul Henderson, a scientist investigating radiation from atomic bomb tests; his beautiful but sexually frustrated wife, Carla; and Jim Farrell, a young Peace Corps representative. The trio comes upon a funeral procession being conducted by the local natives, where two bodies are dismembered before burial. As they investigate further, they meet Arcadio, the tribe's elder, and his granddaughter Alma, who becomes their interpreter for the natives. The villagers choose two village maidens to participate in a ritual, which the Americans are invited to witness. However, the group soon discovers that the island's flora and fauna have been altered by radiation, leading to terrifying transformations. The group is stalked by a monstrous creature that appears to be linked to Esteban Powers, a handsome young man with a dark secret. As the body count rises, Paul and Jim realize that the animals on the island can change from their normal state into monstrous forms. The villagers select two more sacrifices, but Alma's life is spared when Jim rescues her just in time. The trio must navigate the treacherous jungle to find Carla, who has fallen prey to Esteban's monster form. In a thrilling climax, they corner and kill the creature, freeing themselves from its deadly grasp, and celebrate their newfound freedom with a joyous love ritual.
