The Chessplayer

In 1934, Diego Padilla (Marc Clotet) wins the Spanish Championship of Chess and meets Marianne Latour (Melina Matthews), a French journalist whom he falls in love with. When the Civil War ends, Marianne convinces Diego to live in France with their daughter, but shortly afterwards Diego is accused of spying by the Nazis and imprisoned in an SS prison, where Colonel Maier's passion for chess helps him survive.
