During the Cold War, a grudge match between two chess grandmasters becomes a battle of personal and political wits in "Dangerous Moves". The World Chess Championship brings together Akiva Liebskind, a 52-year-old Soviet Jew with a serious heart condition, and Pavius Fromm, a 35-year-old Hungarian dissident struggling to come to terms with his defection.
