You Never Can Tell

In "You Never Can Tell," Dick Powell plays Rex Shepherd, a human detective who investigates his own murder after being poisoned by someone seeking to claim an inheritance from a fortune left behind by an eccentric millionaire. With the help of Golden Harvest (Joyce Holden), a horse sent back to earth as Goldie Harvey, and Ellen Hathaway (Peggy Dow), whom King's spirit had befriended before his death, Rex must solve the case before the full moon appears or he'll be stuck on earth forever.
