Captain Fantastic

A devoted father of six lives in isolation in the Pacific Northwest wilderness with his children, teaching them survivalist skills and left-wing politics and philosophy. Raised without modern technology or socialization, they are intelligent but awkward, with a unique upbringing that includes celebrating Noam Chomsky's birthday instead of Christmas. When his wife dies by suicide, her father tries to take custody of the children, prompting Ben to embark on a road trip across the country in a repurposed school bus to protect them. Along the way, they struggle to reconcile their unconventional lifestyle with the outside world and ultimately find a way to honor their mother's final wishes.
