Union of Salvation

In 1812, Russian troops occupied Paris and captured it from Napoleon's France, leading to a surge in national pride and confidence in Russia's power. The story follows young officers, including Lieutenant Colonel Sergey Muravyov-Apostol (Leonid Bichevin), Prince Sergey Trubetskoy (Maksim Matveev), and Colonel Pavel Pestel (Pavel Priluchnyy), who become disillusioned with Tsarist autocracy and conspire to install a new tsar and abolish serfdom. As they gather support, they face opposition from the authorities and ultimately lead the Decembrist revolt in Saint Petersburg in December 1825, seeking radical change in Russia.
