Convicts

In 1902 Texas, a young boy named Horace (Lukas Haas) works on a rundown plantation owned by the senile Civil War veteran Soll Gautier (Robert Duvall), who relies on convict labor to keep his farm running. As Christmas Eve approaches, Soll becomes obsessed with his own mortality, forcing Horace to confront his fear of death and the harsh truths of a decadent society.
