A 16-year-old American teenager named Jake Portman visits Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children on a remote Welsh island, where he discovers that his grandfather spent his childhood battling monsters and possessing special powers as a "Peculiar." With the help of Miss Peregrine, a strict but clever headmistress who can transform into a peregrine falcon and manipulate time, Jake must protect the home's children with extraordinary abilities from creatures intent on destroying them.
