In 1889 New York City, Italian immigrant Francesca Cabrini, portrayed by Cristiana Dell'Anna, arrives to find disease, crime, and impoverished children. Cabrini sets off on a daring mission to convince Mayor Gould to secure housing and healthcare for society's most vulnerable, despite facing resistance from Archbishop Corrigan and her own poor health. With broken English and entrepreneurial spirit, Cabrini builds an empire of hope in the Five Points neighborhood, transforming lives through her charity work and Christian faith.
