A gritty and darkly comedic thriller, "Dog Eat Dog" follows three ex-cons hired by a mob boss to kidnap a baby and hold it for ransom, but things quickly go awry as they find themselves on the run from both the mob and the law. With its unapologetic portrayal of crime, violence, and moral ambiguity, this film is not for the faint of heart. Director Paul Schrader's signature style brings a sense of urban grit and black humor to the table, but it's unclear if his vision ultimately coalesces into a cohesive whole.
