The Whistler

In "The Whistler," industrialist Earl C. Conrad (Richard Dix) pays an assassin to kill him, believing his wife's death at sea was his fault and fearing he'll be killed by her killer. When he discovers his wife is still alive, he tries to call off the hit, but the underworld go-between has been killed, leaving Conrad on the run from the actual hit man (J. Carrol Naish), who stalks him with deadly precision.
