During the ill-fated Hungarian Revolution of 1956, Karcsi Szabo's world is torn apart by his love for a revolutionary student and his training to represent Hungary in the Melbourne Olympics. As the Soviet tanks crush the uprising, Szabó must navigate his loyalty to his country and his teammates while facing the harsh realities of living under oppressive rule. The film "Children of Glory" recreates this pivotal moment in history through the eyes of its fictional lead characters, juxtaposing the passion and sadness of one of the twentieth century's most dramatic revolts with the drama of Olympic competition.
