Alongside Dr. Jo Summers (Jennifer Rubin) and ex-Marine Jake Van Ryberg (Shane van Dyke), they embark on a perilous mission to stop the machines, which quickly seize control of the Earth, adapting to the changing atmosphere to fit their physiology.
