A scorching expose of the Taiwanese film industry, "Nina Wu" shines a searing light on the darker aspects of the business, tackling themes of sexism and exploitation head-on in a raw and unflinching drama that lays bare the harsh realities of Hollywood's underbelly. With a lead performance that commands attention, this thought-provoking thriller makes for uncomfortable viewing - but it's exactly what cinema should do when faced with uncomfortable truths: speak truth to power, no matter how difficult or distressing it may be.
