Sole Survivor

The film "Sole Survivor" follows the story of Brigadier General Russell Hamner (Richard Basehart), a former navigator who survived World War II by bailing out of his damaged bomber plane over the Libyan desert. In reality, only four crew members survived their parachute landings, but Hamner claims he flew on alone to find an oil field and then crash-landed in the desert. As investigators, including Lieutenant Colonel Josef Gronke (William Shatner) and Major Michael Devlin (Vince Edwards), arrive at the wreckage site, they uncover evidence that contradicts Hamner's story, leading him to confront his past and the ghosts of his deceased crewmates, who were never recovered or buried after their plane crashed in 1943.
