The Master and Margarita

In 1930s Soviet Moscow, a writer's life is transformed when a mysterious professor and his bizarre entourage arrive, exposing the hypocrisy of those in power and turning the city upside down. Inspired by his mistress Margarita, he begins working on a new novel featuring satirical reinterpretations of his life, as reality and imagination blur. With a cast of characters including a wisecracking trickster, a deadly assassin, a vampire maid, and a giant talking black cat, this film is a surreal journey through the dark underbelly of Soviet Moscow.
