The Derby Stallion

Lonely teenager Patrick McCardle (Zac Efron) is forced to play baseball by his father, but finds solace in the stories of Houston Jones (Bill Cobbs), a former champion steeplechase jockey who shares tales of his youth and passion for riding. When Patrick asks Houston to train him, despite his parents' objections, their unlikely friendship blossoms, with Houston teaching Patrick the art of horsemanship and helping him pursue his dreams. As Patrick grows closer to Jill (Crystal Hunt) and learns to care for his horse Rusty, he finds a new sense of purpose and determination. In the end, Patrick's hard work pays off as he wins a steeplechase race, inspired by Houston's memory and legacy.
