Emily Jenkins (Renée Zellweger), a social worker, takes in 10-year-old Lilith Sullivan after her violent parents try to kill her. As Emily tries to protect Lilith, she discovers that dark forces surround the seemingly innocent girl, and the more she tries to help, the more horrors she encounters. With the help of Detective Mike Barron (Ian McShane), Emily must confront her own fears and Lillith's supernatural abilities to survive the evil child's deadly grasp.
