Johnny Tsunami

Johnny "Pono" Kapahala II, a thirteen-year-old boy from Hawaii, moves to Vermont with his family after his father's sudden job transfer. He struggles to fit in at his new school, where he is forced to choose between the skiers' and snowboarders' clubs. With help from a friend named Sam Sterling, Johnny learns to snowboard and eventually faces off against his rival Brett in a high-stakes race that will determine the fate of the mountain. Along the way, Johnny's parents, Pete and Melanie, learn valuable lessons about letting go and supporting their son as he navigates his new life.
