Between the Temples

A grief-stricken cantor in a crisis of faith finds his world turned upside down when his grade school music teacher re-enters his life as his new adult Bat Mitzvah student. The two forlorn souls develop a special connection. Jason Schwartzman stars as Ben Gottlieb, a disillusioned 40-something cantor struggling with a crisis of faith after the loss of his wife, and Carol Kane plays Carla Kessler, his childhood music teacher who now seeks to have her Bat Mitzvah in her 60s, prompting Ben to re-evaluate his life and faith.
