In 1916, a doctor and lawyer pool their resources to transform a ramshackle mountain chateau into an unorthodox haven for Europe's most beleaguered citizens, offering false hope and new identities alongside genuine medical care. As guests from all walks of life converge on the sanatorium, the air is thick with intrigue and deception.
