In this haunting biographical drama, Melissa Errico stars as Sandra Tannen, a linguistics professor whose life intersects with that of Genie, a modern-day feral child locked in isolation since age one. As Katie grows up without human contact, her potential is revealed through remarkable progress in learning vocabulary and hygiene, but she never grasps the complexities of language. The film follows Katie's tumultuous journey as she faces abuse, neglect, and loss, leaving behind a trail of tragedy that reverberates long after her rescue.
