Laura Dern stars as Katherine Loewe, a successful novelist struggling to find her next big idea after a breakup, at a writers' retreat in Morocco where she unexpectedly connects with younger writer Owen Brophy (Liam Hemsworth). As they spend more time together, Katherine and Owen share insights, observations, and personal details, leading to a romantic encounter that inspires Katherine's next novel. The film follows their journey as they navigate love, creativity, and identity in the exotic Moroccan landscape.
