In a remote Kurdish village in northeastern Turkey, a documentary is shot by German film crew that captures an elderly woman performing an ancient ritual to keep alive the memory of her missing son. The film crew also befriends Melek, a 7-year-old Turkish girl and her caretaker, whose father Zafer works for an ominous group with unclear intentions. As Melek's life becomes increasingly entangled in this web of conspiracy and paranoia, it sets off a devastating chain of events that exposes deep-seated trauma and generational divisions.
