Pet Shop

The 1994 film "Pet Shop" follows an alien couple who disguise themselves as a pet shop owner in a dusty Arizona town to lure local children with their adorable extraterrestrial critters. The Yeager family, who are witnesses in protection, unknowingly move into the area and assume new identities while relocating from Brooklyn, New York. When the Zimm's take over the pet shop, they reveal that the alien creatures possess a higher intelligence above earthly animals and are being used for an interstellar market. As the children discover the truth about the pets and their intended fate, they band together to outsmart the Zimm's and protect themselves from being sold as commodities on the alien pet market.
