Walker

In 1853, soldier-of-fortune William Walker flees Mexico after a failed attempt to incite an armed insurrection. He goes on to become embroiled in Nicaragua's civil war and eventually seizes power through a rigged election. However, his actions as president become increasingly manic and delusional, antagonizing his financial backer and leading to the downfall of his regime. In the end, Walker is executed by Honduran soldiers after being left behind by American troops that arrive on the scene, a jarring anachronism that underscores the film's bold, unflinching portrayal of its subject's notorious fate.
