The White King

Djata (Lorenzo Allchurch), a 12-year-old boy growing up in a dystopian territory called Homeland, under a dictatorship and without access to the rest of the world, learns about his father Peter's true nature as he deals with persecution against him and his parents by the government. His grandfather, Colonel Fitz (Jonathan Pryce), shows him a gun and orders him to kill a cat, but Djata refuses. When Djata's mother Hannah tries to protect him from her own family's loyalty to the regime, she labels them traitors, leading to their imprisonment. As Djata searches for his father, he encounters a female android who plays chess, and Colonel Fitz tells him that he will die like his father.
