Elevation

In a post-apocalyptic world, survivors live in isolated communities above 8,000 feet to avoid giant, insect-like creatures that roam below. Will, played by Anthony Mackie, must risk everything to venture into danger to find life-saving supplies for his son Hunter, who has a lung disease. With the help of Nina, a scientist, they embark on a perilous journey through the Rocky Mountains, facing Reapers and uncovering their true nature as machines built using advanced alien technology. Along the way, Nina's theories are proven correct, and she finds a way to kill the creatures with her Co/Mg-coated bullets.
