The Adventures of Werner Holt

Werner Holt (Klaus-Peter Thiele) is a young Luftwaffenhelfer stationed on the eastern border of Germany in the last days of World War II, awaiting the attack of the Red Army with his friend and commander Gilbert Wolzow (Arno Wyzniewski). As the Soviets attack, Werner flees after witnessing his friend's execution, grabbing a machine-gun to mow down the executioners. The film follows Werner's journey as he deserts and begins to understand the senselessness of war.
