In "Young Werther," Douglas Booth shines as the charming yet irresponsible young novelist Werther, who embarks on an emotional affair with Alison Pill's lovely Charlotte, while forming an awkward friendship with Patrick J. Adams' Albert. The film, based on Johann Wolfgang von Goethe's 1774 novel of the same name, premiered at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival and received generally positive reviews for its confident, clever update on a timeless tragic romance.
