The Lucky Texan

In this 1934 Western classic, John Wayne stars as Jerry Mason, a young Texan who strikes it rich with his partner Jake Benson, played by the inimitable George "Gabby" Hayes, a seasoned rancher. Their gold rush is short-lived, however, as they become embroiled in a web of deceit and betrayal from local assayers Harris and Cole, leading to a heart-pumping chase and ultimate showdown. Amidst the action and suspense, Wayne also finds love with Barbara Sheldon's character, Betty, who just so happens to be Hayes' feisty granddaughter, adding a romantic twist to this thrilling tale.
