Dirigible

In "Dirigible," a high-stakes adventure unfolds as Jack Braden, a dirigible commander, and Navy pilot Frisky Pierce engage in a bitter rivalry over who can reach the South Pole first, while struggling to keep their personal lives intact. As fate takes a disastrous turn for both men, with Braden's expedition crashing into the ocean and Frisky being left stranded at the pole, he must ultimately choose between his duty as a hero and his love for beautiful Helen, who is waiting for him back home. The film's aerial action sequences feature the stars Jack Holt and Ralph Graves, who also played fliers two years earlier in Frank Capra's "Flight," and are matched against the drama of their complicated relationships.
