The Room Next Door

Julianne Moore stars as Ingrid, a successful author, who reunites with her estranged friend Martha (Tilda Swinton) in Manhattan hospital after learning of Martha's terminal cancer diagnosis. As they share confidences and become closer, Martha reveals she recently bought euthanasia pills and asks Ingrid to stay with her at their rented country house in Woodstock, New York, where she plans to end her life. When Ingrid wakes up to find Martha's door closed, thinking she has died, Martha explains that it was a test run for the actual event, which later occurs when Ingrid finds Martha dead outside.
