In "The Savage Innocents," Anthony Quinn stars as Inuk, an Eskimo who accidentally kills a missionary and must evade police while saving the life of one of the pursuers. The film was shot on-location in the Canadian Arctic and features Kayak scenes shot in Ilulissat, Greenland, with interiors filmed in Britain's Pinewood Studios and Rome's Cinecittà studios. The movie explores themes of Inuit survival in the extreme arctic wilderness, as well as their struggle to maintain their traditional lifestyle against encroaching civilization.
