Hukkle

In the hauntingly quiet Hungarian village, a seemingly idyllic community is shrouded in mystery. The film's use of almost no dialogue and an array of vignettes presents a world where the lines between ordinary life and sinister events are blurred. As a young man drives his horse-drawn cart through fields teeming with life, a girl sits serenely in the sun, while a cat succumbs to poisoning; a mole meets its end at the hands of an old lady ploughing the earth, and a pig's union is watched over by two eager owners. The village appears tranquil, yet beneath the surface, events unfold that ultimately reveal a dark truth - one slowly revealed through the haunting melodies of a folk song sung at a wedding, where the threads of life are inextricably linked to death.
