Treasure of Matecumbe

In post-Civil War Kentucky, young Davie Burnic becomes the unexpected heir to the family secret, a map leading to buried treasure on the Florida isle of Matecumbe. After Ben's death at the hands of Captain Spangler and his men, Davie joins forces with Lauriette Paxton, a "runaway bride", Dr. Ewing Snodgrass, a snake oil salesman, and Uncle Jim, who helps them escape from Spangler's gang. Together, they embark on a perilous journey to reach Matecumbe, facing numerous challenges along the way, including treacherous terrain, fierce Native Americans, and Spangler's relentless pursuit of the treasure.
