In a bold experiment, the Catholic Church attempts to reach modern youth through television, and the results are hilarious and irreverent. Renzo Arbore, the film's writer-director-star, is summoned by Pope John Paul II himself to create a Vatican TV station that will woo back young believers. To make it happen, he recruits comedians from Italy's popular "Other Sunday" program, setting the stage for a satire of the Church's attempts to stay hip and relevant in the 1980s.
