The Simian Line is a 2001 American improvisational drama film about Katharine's life and her growing jealousy when she suspects one of three couples present at a Halloween party will break up by the end of the year, including her lover Rick (Harry Connick Jr.) and his flirtation with neighbor Sandra (Cindy Crawford). Meanwhile, psychic Arnita (Tyne Daly) sees a fourth couple - the long dead Mae (Samantha Mathis) and Edward (William Hurt) - at the party. As days pass, Marta (Monica Keena), Billy (Dylan Bruno), and their rock musician lifestyle intersect with Katharine's troubles.
