Mimiko (Kazuko Sugiyama), a bright little girl, adopts a talking baby panda named Panny and his full-grown papa PapaPanda after finding him on her doorstep. The arrival of the pandas disrupts the quiet life in town, prompting zookeepers to reclaim the escaped bear pair. Mimiko and her new family adjust to life together, while she also makes friends with Panny and faces various challenges with her growing family.
