When Emad Burnat, a Palestinian farmer from Bil'in, buys his first camera in 2005 to document the birth of his youngest son, he unwittingly becomes an embedded chronicler of his village's struggle against the Israeli West Bank barrier and its devastating impact on their lives. As bulldozers destroy olive groves, army raids intensify, and protests escalate, Burnat films the brutal suppression of peaceful activists, including his own friends and family members. Each camera used to document these events is eventually shot or smashed, but through his five broken cameras, Emad tells a powerful tale of resistance, nonviolent defiance, and the human cost of conflict.
