Viceroy's House

In 1947, Lord Mountbatten (Hugh Bonneville) assumes the post of last Viceroy, charged with handing India back to its people, amidst religious conflict and colonial India's tumultuous transition to independence. As tensions rise, Mountbatten attempts to mediate a disagreement between Indian leaders Jawaharlal Nehru and Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Meanwhile, Jeet (Manish Dayal), the newly arrived valet of Lord Mountbatten, reconnects with Alia (Huma Qureshi), whom he had previously fallen in love with but was unable to be with due to their different faiths.
